Tommy Andersson

Born and raised in Sweden, Tommy Andersson holds a degree in Business Administration from the Gothenburg School of Business and completed military service as a Conscript Second Lieutenant in the Royal Swedish Navy. After working in the shipping industry as a controller and CFO, Andersson transitioned in 2010 to co-run an accounting firm with their spouse.

A passionate sailor, he has navigated the waters of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark and participated in prominent sailing events such as Skuträffen, Nordisk Skutträff, and Limfjorden Rundt aboard a West Coast schooner. Their hands-on experience includes contributing to the renovation of the schooner Isolda and active membership in both the West Coast Schooners Association and the Swedish Sailing Federation.

Deeply involved in maritime heritage preservation, Tommy co-founded Maritimt i Väst in 2009 and has served as its chairman since 2017, focusing on initiatives like establishing a Cultural Harbor in Gothenburg. As a board member of the Eriksbergs Kulturbåtshamn Association, Tommy Andersson played a key role in organizing the Eriksbergs Cultural Harbor Festival in 2022 and 2023.

He is also part of the steering group for Prisma, a cultural project led by the Västra Götaland Region, and collaborates within its Cultural Tourism group to develop engaging public activities. Networking extensively, Andersson has forged connections with schooner enthusiasts, maritime organizations, and cultural entities, including Göteborg & Co, Turistrådet Västsverige AB, Innovatum, and the Bohusläns and Gothenburg Historical Societies.
