On 13 January 2024, European Maritime Heritage (EMH) hosted a landmark seminar in Lisbon, bringing together stakeholders from across Europe to explore the urgent need for a unified European Network of Heritage Harbours. 

This collaborative effort, rooted in the spirit of the EMH Barcelona Charter, culminated in the adoption of the Lisbon Declaration—a visionary commitment to preserving and activating Europe’s rich maritime legacy.

The European Maritime Heritage (EMH) will convene its Annual General Assembly (AGA) 2026 on Saturday, 21 March 2026, in Amsterdam, bringing together Members for a full day that combines the Association’s formal statutory business with high-value technical exchanges on key issues facing the traditional and historic maritime sector.

The General Assembly will be held at the BBZ (Aambeeldstraat 20, Amsterdam) and organised in a hybrid format, allowing Members to participate either on site or remotely.
